Data from the 2005-2009 American Community Survey released December 14, 2010. The American Community Survey (ACS) is a replacement of the Census Long Form and will be conducted throughout the decade to provide communities a better picture of what’s happening on the ground between any two Census polls.
Three types of information are available:
-
5-yr estimate for all places - data down to the census tract level. Lexington is made up of 6 tracts.
-
3-yr estimate (places with population of 20,000-65,000) - community level data. Data for Lexington are available for 2005-7 and 2006-08, with the next release, 2007-09, scheduled for January 2011.
-
1-yr estimate (places with a population +65,000) - not available for Lexington.
