Project Description

This project includes installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of Spring Street and Marrett Road, the addition of approximately 4,500 linear feet of sidewalk, and the installation of a granite curb along Spring Street and Marrett Road. The traffic signal will have an exclusive pedestrian phase and the sidewalks will be installed on both sides of Spring Street from Marrett Road to Hudson Road and on the westerly side (odd side) from Hudson Street to the bridge over Route 2.  Pedestrian crossings along Spring Street are currently proposed at Underwood and HudsonTraffic calming devices will also be incorporated into this project. The typical sections of the project will have 24 feet of pavement, five-foot sidewalks, granite curbing, and a grass strip between the sidewalk and the curbing.  The roadway and sidewalk will be narrowed in one location in an effort to save a pair of 40" Oak Trees.  Project Funding

The Town has received Massachusetts Opportunity Relocation and Expansion Jobs Capital Program Grant (MORE Grant) that has a time related performance requirement.
