Lexpress fall schedule started Monday, August 25. Routes 1, 3, 5 begin at 6:35AM. There are no 7:30AM routes departing from Depot Square. No Lexpress service on Labor Day, Monday, September 1. (posted August 27, 2014)
Select a design for Grain Mill Alley (on Mass. Ave. between Bank of America and Hammond Realty) on Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m. at the Depot building on Depot Square. GroundViewDesign consultants will bring design concepts for review and comment. The goal is to create a public space that will enliven the Center and cultivate the fun and creative spirit reflective of our community.(posted August 25, 2014)
Construction update for Route 2/I-95 Bridge Replacement project:
- Labor Day holiday traffic management: There will be no lane closures on Route 2 or I-95 from noon on Friday, August 29 through 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 2 for the Labor Day holiday weekend.
- For information about lane closures beginning Tuesday, September 2, please visit the website at www.mass.gov/massdot/rt2i95bridges.
- Traffic will be maintained at all times on I-95 and Route 2 during this work. (updated August 27, 2014)

Polling locations - Note new Polling Location for Precincts 1 and 5. In preparation for the scheduled renovations to the Cary Memorial Building, the Board of Selectmen voted to move the Precinct One and Five polling location to the School Administration Building at 146 Maple Street (entrance via driveway at 328 Lowell Street).
Mosquitoes in Belmont tested positive for West Nile Virus. The Public Health Division has scheduled informational seminars about mosquitoes and ticks, and how to protect yourself from the diseases they carry. More information about mosquitoes and ticks is available on Lexington's Health Division page. You can find information and instructional videos on the Mass. Dept. of Public Health’s tick and mosquito page. Treatment of catch basins with mosquito larvicide will occur in Lexington the last two weeks in July. (updated July 25, 2014)
Major renovation has begun on the Cary Memorial Building at 1605 Mass. Ave. (between the Town Office Building and the Police Station.) Space in the building is expected to be off-line for 15 months. Construction fencing is up and travel behind the building is now one-way only (coming from the Police Station side and exiting by the Post Office). (posted July 14, 2014)
