State Primary September 9, 2014 - Preliminary Election Results

Select a design for Grain Mill Alley (on Mass. Ave. between Bank of America and Hammond Realty) on Thursday, September 11 at 7 p.m. at the Depot building on Depot Square. GroundViewDesign consultants will bring design concepts for review and comment.  The goal is to create a public space that will enliven the Center and cultivate the fun and creative spirit reflective of our community.(posted August 25, 2014)

Mass. Dept. of Public Health announced that a resident of Middlesex County has tested positive for West Nile virus(WNV). The jurisdictions of Melrose, Reading, Saugus, Stoneham, Wakefield, Winchester and Woburn are being moved to Moderate risk for WNV, but Lexington remains at a Low risk level. The Board of Selectmen and Town Manager are seeking volunteers for a number of Town committees. The polls are open in Lexington on Election Day from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 
Polling locations - Note new Polling Location for Precincts 1 and 5. In preparation for the scheduled renovations to the Cary Memorial Building, the Board of Selectmen voted to move the Precinct 1 and 5 polling location to the School Administration Building at 146 Maple Street (entrance via driveway at 328 Lowell Street).   

The Town of Bedford is slip-lining of their sewer line on Bedford Street, from the Route 95 ramps to the Westview Cemetery beginning September 8, 2014.  Lexington Police and DPW staff are working to address traffic impacts of this project in Lexington. However, please expect delays as there will be lane closures for a significant portion of the project, expected to take 75 days. Please seek alternate routes if possible and plan accordingly.

Senior Flu Clinic: Influenza (flu) and Pneumococcal Vaccine will be available for Lexington residents 60 years and older at St. Brigid's Keilty Hall, 1997 Massachusetts Avenue on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, from 10:00am to 1:00pm.  You may contact the Office of Community Development, Health Division, Gerard Cody, Health Director at 781-698-4503 if you have questions. Lexpress fall schedule started Monday, August 25. Routes 1, 3, 5 begin at 6:35AM. There are no 7:30AM routes departing from Depot Square. (posted August 27, 2014)

Construction update for Route 2/I-95 Bridge Replacement project:

  • For information about lane closures beginning Tuesday, September 2, please visit the website at www.mass.gov/massdot/rt2i95bridges.
