About this Website

Welcome to the official website of the Town of Lexington, Massachusetts.  The Town maintains a website to provide a convenient mechanism for people to get information from and do business with the Town.

This redesigned website was launched in 2008 in order to:

• make information available in more user-friendly way, and
• add electronic government features for greater user convenience.

Major decisions and changes on the new website include:

• New domain name
• Simple home page with portals;
• Dropdown menus on every page;
• Individual pages for standing boards and committees;
• Frequently Asked Questions and How Do I? Pages; and
• A new email subscription feature.

This redesign continues to be a work in progress, with new features planned over the next few years.  Additional interactive features for the future include a document center, fillable forms, electronic permitting, and customer request tracking. As the website continues to evolve, visiting this site on the Internet will become more and more of an effective alternative to making a trip to the Town Office Building.

Website maintenance is done by existing employees who serve as department Web Editors.  We would like to hear from users, so please send comments on your experience using the new site to the Webmaster.
