Lexington Facilities

The Department of Public Facilities (DPF) manages twenty five facilities for the town, comprising fourteen town buildings and eleven school buildings. These facilities total approximately 1.3M square feet of space and nearly one million square feet of roofing.

The DPF annually recommends Capital Projects to maintain all buildings in a condition suitable for their intended use. The DPF also administers a Facility Master Planning process with the Superintendent of Schools, the Town Manager, and the Permanent Building Committee.

The Permanent Building Committee oversees large renovation projects and new facility construction with the support of the DPF. The DPF supplies project management, clerk of the works, and administrative support as required for these projects.
