Police Youth Academy

Lexington Police Youth Academy StudentsThe Lexington Police Department will be hosting two 10-day youth summer academy sessions to introduce the many facets of Law Enforcement and Public Safety.

Free for kids ages 12 to 17

Dates: Due to the unexpected re-opening of the state and having several of our field trip locations still restricted. We will not be holding a youth academy for 2021. We look forward to next year to be back.

The academy will be held at Lexington High School, 251 Waltham Street Lexington

Topics covered over the week:

  • First Aid/CPR
  • Team Building
  • Introduction to Law Enforcement / LPD history and programs
  • Fun and Games
  • LPD History and Programs

Space is limited to twenty participants.

Time will be spent indoors and out.

Youth Academy Application Form (PDF) are available online (but must be printed and signed), or pick them up at the Police Department, 1575 Massachusetts Avenue

Applications must be received no later than for the first session and for the second session.

A parent orientation evening will be held on July 9th for the first session and July 30th for the second session.

Academy students will only be allowed to partake in one session to allow for maximum participation.
