Members of the Committee should be citizens with sufficient background to understand the financial and operational activities of a community farm, as well as an understanding of the benefits of community farming.

Overview

The Community Farming Committee will monitor the operations of a community farm on Town-owned land and make regular reports to the Board of Selectmen that include an evaluation of:

  • The operator's site plan
  • Educational programming
  • Financial condition
  • Environmental practices
  • Contract compliance
  • Public benefits of community farming activities

Dissolution

The Community Farming Committee was dissolved in May 2017.
