Semiquincentennial Commission (Lex250)

Overview

The goal of this Commission is:

  • To evaluate, make recommendations and coordinate the Town-wide activities to be held to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington (which will take place in April 2025) and other historical events related to the founding of our Country
  • To further the coordination of the Town’s events with local, state, regional and federal events

Members

15 members
Appointments are made by the Select Board.
Quorum: Quorum shall be a majority of members serving.

One Member from each of the following Boards or Committees:

  • Select Board
  • Tourism Committee
  • Town Celebrations Committee

Along with representatives from each of the following groups:

  • Civic/Community Group Representative
  • 6 Community Members with a background or interest in history, event planning, logistics, transportation, security, fundraising, and/or publicity
  • Local Museum or Historical Organization Representative
  • Lexington Public School Representative
  • Local Business Representative
  • Music and Arts Community Representative
  • Reenactment Community Representative

Current Membership
