[ARCHIVED] Command Staff Members Attend Prestigious Leadership Training


As a result of a program improvement request (PIR) to the budget to focus on senior management development, Captain John Mazerall and Lieutenant Colleen Dunbar recently graduated from the Senior Management Institute for Police (SMIP). SMIP is a program of the Police Executive Research Forum that provides senior police executives with intensive training in the latest management concepts and practices used in business and government. It also features discussions of the most challenging issues facing law enforcement executives today.  This demanding three-week course, brings together faculty from the MIT Sloan School of Management, the Harvard Kennedy School and other top universities, successful law enforcement chief executives, and subject matter experts from the private sectorThe majority of police executives who participate in the program come from departments throughout the United States and other participating countries.
